Gonorrhea is a bacterial disease which is mainly due to the bacteria Neisseria gonorrhea. The reason for the transmission is sexual contact and it can be transferred from one person to another through sexual contact, oral sex or vaginal sex. 

What are the Treatments available for Gonorrhea?

If you test positive for gonorrhea, need not to worry, the disease is easily treatable .You will likely be offered an antibiotic, either in pill form or by injection single dose is usually all that is required, but some antibiotics require longer courses. Common antibiotics for gonorrhea include Oflaxacin, Cefixine and Ceftriaxine.

  • GONORRHEA TREATMENT FOR BABIES-Babies born to mothers with gonorrhea receives a medication in their eyes soon after birth to prevent infection. If an eye infection develops, babies can be treated with antibiotics.
